Our story
The Retro Chef story began with when chef Brett Whitaker and designer Greg Dyer collaborated on an innovative range of chef’s attire.
Their range of chefwear was bold, colourful and different, in a world of classic chefs whites.
With their unique designs, the duo went on to win the Australian RAQ Fashion Design Awards four times, plus numerous other business awards.
Since then, Retro Chef has expanded its offering to incorporate everything a chef could want or need - from apparel and footwear, to knives and kitchen tools.
Supplying chefs Queensland-wide with their curated range of chef equipment and apparel, Retro Chef is also the preferred supplier for numerous culinary training institutions and TAFEs.

We began long-lasting relationships with various TAFE institutions and training colleges, supplying their students with chef equipment and attire for their course needs.

Our Gold Coast store opened its doors for the first time.
